I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s felt this recently, but I’ve been coming to grips with the impact that procrastination has had on my progress for years.
There are so many things that God has placed in my spirit and things that I’ve dreamed of doing, but have placed it on the back burner for a multitude of reasons.
Be it low confidence, fear or failure or the unknown, we all have a reason as to why we are not walking in our full power and potential. This quote from Bishop T.D. Jakes reminds me that time is our most precious commodity.
"Procrastination is the arrogant assumption that you've been blessed with another day".
None of us know when our journey on earth will be complete. While life can be beautifully long, we should take into consideration that this is not guaranteed. This is not to scare us but to simply remind us that we must become proficient in prioritizing our goals--whatever they might be.
It could mean calling that person you've avoided for years and apologize. It could mean writing a letter of forgiveness for yourself so you can finally move forward with your life. It could even mean deciding to put the phone down to enjoy a meal with your family from now on (am I the only one struggling with this lol?)
With that in mind, take the time to nurture and cultivate your talents, relationships and purpose. Apply them and share your gifts with those around you and the world. You never know who you’re impacting by walking fully in your purpose.
Remember, you are worthy. You are loved. You are blessed. 💛💚
